I love traveling but my least favorite thing to do is pack, I dread it. Have you ever heard of a “heavy packer”? Well, that’s me but over the years, I have mastered the art of packing and fitting everything I need for a long flight in my overnight bag.
Long flights are no joke; take it from me I would know. I have been on a 16-hour flight to china and it was serious. I wasn’t prepared at all and so I have learnt my lesson. I want to share what is in my overnight bag and, a few of my travel essential to help you prepare for your next long flight.
Make sure you have a sturdy carry-on bag that can hold a lot of things, that’s important.
Passport; very important if you’re traveling oversease.
Cash and debit cards. It’s always a good idea to carry cash on you when you travel, it’s important especially when traveling to a foreign country because you don’t know where the banks are or if you can use your card over there. Cash is gold!
Cell phone and laptop – Oh and do not forget their accessories.
A Print out of my itinerary with phone numbers and addresses just incase my phone dies or I lose it.
My camera and a memory card.
Makeup travel size, its always good to have makeup with you incase you arrive befor your luggages. I’m speaking from expeience.
Travel size toiletries – Toothbrush and toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner, body wash, creams and sun lotions, perfume, deodorant.
A mini first aid kit – I usually take with me a few travel size over the counter meds overseas (I don’t like to take foreign meds) i.e. Antihistamine (I have bad allergies) insect repellent, analgesics, anti-diarrheal and anti-acid. I have had a bad experience from drinking foreign water; always drink from bottles when you go abroad to somewhere new!
Lip balm and hand cream – Long flights can cause dryness because of the air conditioning; you’ve got to make sure you stay moisturized!
Gum and travel size snacks because who doesn’t like snacking
A change of clothes & comfy shoes. Don’t forget a sweater or jacket if you’re like me whos always cold. Travel Pilliow, not seen in this photo, I need to buy one.
